Sweden is a member of NATO

Sweden is now a member of NATO. The Chief of Defence of the Swedish Armed Forces, General Micael Bydén, has made the following statement.

– We fully support all aspects of the Washington Treaty as well as the the Alliance´s Strategic Concept, and we are fully committed to all aspects of Collective Defence in accordance with Article 5 of the Treaty, says General Micael Bydén.
